The Blackmagic 6K Pro system is our usual workhorse accompanied by a fleet of Mirrorless bodies including Fujifilm, Sony and Canon plus many funky little cameras from the likes of GoPro, Insta360, DJI and yes, even an iPhone is sometimes used when the job need it! .... oh, that's just the kit we've invested in over the years for day to day shoots to keep the costs as low as possible for you, but if the project needs it we just hire it! So if wanna shoot with an Arri, Red or a even 50 year old Leica, no problem!

Very Competitive Pricing.
Everything including the price is tailored to suit a clients needs but since we are always asked for ball-park pricing, here goes...

2024 Update: still on 2023 Pricing!!!
Video recording / Photography / Video Editing etc. £475 per day / £300 half day. £100ph etc. Subsequent days and regular business are often available at a discounted rate. We can also offer a subsidy to registered charities. For those looking for just a cheap videographer or photographer - we're not it and don't apologise for it either. I've always been let down by 'cheap' in my business and personal life so, on the bold assumption, Im dealing with like minded people, I doubt you would either.
For one -off projects, payment should be made in advance of the first day of shooting and ideally at time of the agreed brief. However, flexible payment schemes to suit the project are readily available - just ask!
What on earth do I get for X day/s of shooting..???
If you have no fixed budget, or unsure what it may end up on or maybe you've got a budget but unsure sure what you can get for your money? We can work it out together... a common ground is often achieved and no-obligation quote is always available so just get in touch.

Distribution Notes for on-line distribution:
To ensure that our clients (user) both initially receives & continues to experience the highest possible quality work from Crispy Jacket Studios (CJS) while safeguarding the intellectual property of the individual creator as per UK Law
Produced & completed work is licensed to the user for on-line (non-broadcast) distribution. To safeguard quality, this should not be subject to any further editing (including AI) unless permission is granted by Crispy Jacket Studios.
UK Law synopsis: As the creator/s retain/s the copyright of the original material they reserve the right to carry out potential future editing of original source, or amend completed material to safeguard their intellectual property. This also secures the highest quality control for all parties.
If completed material is to be used other than the originally intended purpose (usually as stated within the brief) the copyright holder should be consultant as a new licence may be required.
Original (raw) files are kept at Crispy Jacket Studios for a minimum of 12 months free of charge. All appropriate backups against loss is carried out. Offsite & On-line backups are also available upon request.
We can release raw footage to our clients & partners at request.
This is often time consuming - there’s a sizeable amount of data to deal with so an admin fee associated with the transfer would apply. We’ll make this process as simple as possible for our clients and partners.
Although legally we own the footage, if you want access to raws on a view-only basis then that’s ok...

However, as I sometimes ask myself why someone would even want them..? - knowing what I know now, I'd never bother!

Even with a planned shoot with a brief, treatment & storyboard, a professional camera operator would still likely be searching outside and within a frame for angles, composition, focus and exposure etc. plus there is likely to be more than one take. This gives an editor more choice when choosing the 'best of the best' in post production.
The editor has already carefully selected all the best cuts for your edit so you don’t have to… many hours are first spent reviewing and culling prior to even slotting the shots in the timeline to form any resemblance to the final look you receive.
Raw footage is bland. It is deliberately recorded like this as a kind of washed out, muted or ‘flat’ profile. This flat profiles ensures this gets the best dynamic range from the camera sensor. Amongst other benefits which gives a much better overall quality image once professionally edited.
Raw video needs to be colour graded by a colourist, which is usually a very manual process involving several key steps including, but not limited to matching white balance, luminescence, saturation, sharpness and noise control. Then a ‘look’ is often applied. This grade is a very creative and personally unique part of the process or should be imho.
Motion blur is sometimes added. Sharpening is sometimes added. Post stabilisation is sometimes added. Effects are sometimes added etc etc...
Transitions - cuts, dissolves, wipes, flips, special effects etc. all need to be carefully matched to the style of the film. One transition out of place or over used can literally ruin a large part of a film! These have been carefully chosen o suit the film.
Oh, so far I’ve only spoken about visuals. Audio, although less data intensive can also be very demanding needed several processes to complete the sound design. From EQ to royalty free licensing, voice over, sound design effects and much more, sound design is a massive part of the 'feel' of the film - some say its's often the sound which drives the emotion..!

Letting you be trawl through hours of video content which you might never even use wouldn't be particularly useful without this explanation - at least that what I was thinking.
